On Wednesday, Trondheim Municipality announced that 747 new corona infection cases had been registered in the last 24 hours. That is the highest number of new infection cases in a single day in the Municipality so far in the pandemic.

On Wednesday, 573 more infection cases were reported than on Tuesday.

In recent days, several new daily infection records have been set in Trondheim, the newspaper Adresseavisen writes.

“It is great that many people are infected with omicron,” municipal chief medical officer Tove Røsstad told the newspaper, noting that the variant results in fewer cases of severe disease. At the same time, it provides immunity that will protect people against more dangerous varieties that may appear later, she added.
