New daily record: 12,360 corona cases registered in Norway in the last 24 hours

In the last 24 hours, 12,360 corona infection cases have been registered in Norway. That is 6,200 more than the same day last week.

In the last seven days, an average of 8,773 corona infection cases have been registered per day. The corresponding average seven days ago was 5,805.

On Friday, 252 corona patients were hospitalized in Norway – nine more than the day before. Out of the 252, 78 patients were in intensive care, and 58 of these were on respirators, according to the Norwegian Directorate of Health’s overview.

A total of 496,312 people have now tested positive for corona in Norway since the start of the pandemic, according to the National Institute of Public Health (FHI).

A total of 1,381 corona-infected people have died in Norway since March 2020, preliminary figures show.
