New daily record: 2,552 new corona infection cases registered in Norway in the last 24 hours

In the last 24 hours, 2,552 corona infection cases have been registered in Norway. That is 426 more than the same day last week and a new daily record in the country.

The previous daily record (2,126) was set on Tuesday a week ago. In the last seven days, an average of 1,760 corona infection cases has been registered per day. The corresponding average seven days ago was 1,467.

On Tuesday, 218 corona patients were hospitalized in Norway. Out of the total, 52 patients are in intensive care, and among them, 33 are on respirators, according to the Norwegian Directorate of Health’s overview.

As of Wednesday, a total of 232,839 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Norway since the pandemic started.

A total of 952 corona-infected people have died in Norway since March last year, preliminary figures show.
