In the last 24 hours, 5,413 corona infection cases have been registered in Norway. That is 1,222 more than the same day last week and the highest number of infection cases so far.

In the last seven days, an average of 4,403 corona infection cases have been registered per day. The corresponding average seven days ago was 3,235, so the trend is rising.

A new daily peak of infection has been set for four days in a row. On Thursday, 5,355 cases were registered, which is 58 fewer than Friday’s figures. On Wednesday, 5,259 infected people were registered, while the number for Tuesday amounted to 5,138 new corona cases.

On Friday, 314 corona patients were hospitalized in Norway. A total of 108 of the patients were in intensive care, and 52 among them were on respirators, according to the Norwegian Directorate of Health’s overview.

As of midnight on Saturday, 8.7 million corona tests had been performed in the country since February last year. A total of 310,781 people tested positive.
