In Etne, Hordaland the temperature was measured at 30.1 degrees yesterday at 14:00. Never before has it been so hot so late in the year.

It has not been measured above 30 degrees so late in the year anywhere in the country in the past, the Meteorological Institute reports. The last time such temperatures were measured around 30 degrees in Norway was August 26, 1947.

However, the late summer heat will not last much longer. On Thursday, the heat pulls northeast and eventually leaves the country, meteorologists report.
