New lightning-fast corona test to become available in Norway before Christmas
A new corona test that provides results after 18 minutes will be launched this autumn. The test must be performed by a healthcare professional.
The new test is taken from the nose or throat.
It can be used on patients with symptoms of COVID-19 or those who have been in close contact with someone infected.
The drug manufacturer Roche is launching the new test.
The test gives a clear “yes” or “no” answer to whether a person is infected by the virus.
According to the company, laboratory samples can be checked on the standard equipment at 91 Norwegian hospitals.
