A total of 32 young people have been infected with the coronavirus after several parties in Gran during the weekend between July 2 and 5.

The infected are mainly young people aged 15 to 20 years. Seventeen of the infected people live in Gran Municipality, eight live in Jevnaker, six in Lunner, and one person lives in Ringerike, Lunner Municipality announced.

In Hadeland, Ringerike, and Hole, the local health authorities asked young people who have been to parties and other social gatherings in July to take a corona test.

“If they have been to a party during the last week and a half, it is a good idea to take a corona test. We encourage young people to be extra vigilant now, take a break from partying for the next two weeks and help reduce the risk of a more widespread infection,” the municipal chief physicians stated.

The result of the sequencing of several of the positive tests shows that the outbreak is related to the delta variant of the virus, newspaper VG writes.
