The Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) approved the power line in Hamarøy Municipality, which will enable the electrification of the ferries from Bognes – the only ferry connection on the E6.
The power line from Ulvsvåg to Bognes will be approximately 16 kilometers long.
According to the NVE, a license has also been granted for a new transformer station at Bognes.
The Norwegian Public Roads Administration wants to make the ferry sections from Bognes emission-free. From Bognes, you can take a ferry to Skarberget (E6) and Lødingen (highway 85).
Before the start of construction, Kystnett must prepare an environmental, transport, and construction plan that the NVE must also approve.
