A new survey shows that 13% of those surveyed drank more than before during the corona pandemic, but young people, in particular, drank less.

The survey was conducted among 30,000 people in Bergen by researchers from UiB, Helse Bergen, and the National Institute of Public Health (FHI).

“Those who worry the most also drink the most. These are the people who are struggling with finances, health, or are isolated while working or studying from home,” research leader Silje Mæland at the Pandemic Center at UiB said.

Those who primarily drink at parties, especially young people, have reduced their alcohol consumption.

In total, a third of people drank less alcohol than before during the pandemic.
