“An orange danger warning has been issued,” the Meteorological Institute wrote on Twitter on Friday, encouraging people to follow the Yr service for updated alerts.

From Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon, very strong gusts of wind are expected Østafjells (in the areas east of the Langfjellene mountain range). Wind gusts of 23-30 meters per second are expected.

Power supply and roads could be affected if trees come into contact with the lines or fall into the roadway. There will also be an increased risk of damage to buildings and infrastructure.

The Norwegian Meteorological Institute encourages people to assess whether travel is necessary during the weekend.
