The Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO) fears that the new rules for quarantine hotels may pose major challenges for the business community.

“This could potentially present major challenges for some of our member companies that have employees who have regular assignments abroad,” Nina Melsom, director of work-life at NHO, noted.

“We are now working with our members to get a better overview of how this can turn out,” she added.

On Friday, the government announced that the distinction between necessary and unnecessary travel would be removed upon entry into Norway.

Instead, the level of infection for the area where one has been will determine whether a person will have to go to a quarantine hotel or not, regardless of the purpose of the trip.

The new quarantine rules come into force on Thursday, May 27.
