As a corona measure, electronic tickets and bills in the mail for ferry tickets were introduced. NHO is among those who want to make the scheme permanent.

The scheme will be removed from New Year, and ticket holders will no longer be allowed to use their mobile phones to take pictures of their car plates, according to Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) reports.

NHO Sjøfart has requested a meeting with the Minister of Transport and Communications about the matter.

“We hope that the meeting will lead to a postponement of the termination (of the measure), or an opportunity to continue (the current scheme),” Torkild Torkildsen stated.

The Socialist Left Party (SV) has raised the matter in the Norwegian parliament (Storting), and the Ministry of Transport and Communications did not want to comment on the issue until they sent a response to the Storting.
