No need for emergency respirators

The Government bought 1,000 emergency respirators when they were launched in late March but they have not been used either in Norway or abroad.

What will happen to the urgent respirators is still unclear, reports VG.

“It has not been decided how many will end up in the emergency room,” said Minister of Health Bent Høie (H). He pointed out that a quick fix was needed when the ventilators were ordered.

“Even before ordering, it was clear that 1,000 emergency respirators were more than Norway’s needs. It was therefore open that a proportion of them could be distributed to other countries in need of assistance,” he added.

However, no countries have shown an interest in using emergency respirators,
