The Norwegian Food Safety Authority says there is no reason to worry about Corona infections through food, even though the Corona virus was found frozen in chickens in China this week.

The Norwegian Food Safety Authority has not changed their advisory, said Catherine Signe Svindland, the Senior Advisor at the Department of Hygiene and Drinking Water of the Norwegian Food Safety Authority to Nationen.

-”There is nothing to indicate that the Corona virus is transmitted through food and drinking water. There are no known cases of infection via food, nor imported food or packaging.”, says Svindland.

The Norwegian Food Safety Authority relies on assessments and surveys made by the World Health Organization (WHO) and a number of other international health organizations.

Earlier this week, the Corona virus was found frozen in chicken wings from Brazil in the Chinese city of Shenzhen, according to local authorities. No one has been infected by contact with the chicken.
