Since the 14th of June, no one over the age of 90 has been registered as infected by Covid-19. Throughout the pandemic 125 people in the age group have been infected.

Chief Physician, Tone Bruun, from the National Institute for Public Health has told VG that she believes that better routines at many nursing homes might have contributed to the fact that no one over the age of 90 has been infected the past month.

In addition, fewer people in the community have been infected in recent times, and the risk of being infected at a nursing home through visitors or employees has decreased.

-” There has also been strengthened monitoring, testing, infection detection, isolation, and quarantine, so that the spread of the virus can be stopped in time. Better routines in many nursing homes can probably be a contributing factor.”, said Bruun.
