No trains between Norway and Sweden this summer

Even though parts of Sweden are now turning “green” and corona measures are constantly being relaxed, the Norwegian Railway Directorate stated that there would be no trains between Norway and Sweden this summer.

“The reason for this is that expected demand will be modest even if the government changes the travel advice from July 5.

“Furthermore, solutions must be established for border control according to the same model as at airports,” the Directorate stated in a message, according to Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK).

Due to rail maintenance work, there will be mostly buses on many stretches this summer, especially around the Oslo area.
