Employees in the Nord-Trøndelag Hospital Trust who are not fully vaccinated are now given work assignments without patient contact.

The measure is being implemented to give vulnerable patient groups even more protection during the pandemic, Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) reports.

“In total, this is a small group, around 70 of our 3,500 employees. Those who have not wanted to clarify whether they have been vaccinated or not will be defined as unvaccinated,” communications manager Svein H. Karlsen stated.

The main rule at hospitals is that all employees who are in contact with patients must be fully vaccinated.

The decision has support from the union, which believes there are plenty of work tasks that the unvaccinated can perform.
