The police confirm that another person has been arrested in the corruption case involving Nordea Bank employees.

On Wednesday, the police arrested a person after receiving information in the investigation, the police stated in a press release.

“The accused is not employed by Nordea or the NAV. The accused will be questioned,” the Oslo Police District noted.

Prosecutor Kristin Rusdal told NTB that she could not reveal where the person was employed.

Five people have previously been charged with gross corruption in connection with the suspicion that NOK 150 million has been paid out in loans based on incorrect information.

The five were arrested in a police operation on Tuesday when police appeared at Nordea’s headquarters in Norway at Majorstuen in Oslo. At the same time, the police raided several private addresses in an operation with over 50 police officers involved.

The five are charged with gross corruption or complicity in gross corruption. Four of the accused are or have been employed by Nordea and the NAV. All were released Tuesday night after being questioned by police.
