The Incidents at Sea agreement between Norway and Russia has been updated in line with technological developments.

The agreement aims to prevent dangerous episodes for the military in the North Sea.

The new additional protocol updates the Incidents at Sea agreement so that it follows the technological development and promotes security in Norway’s neighboring areas, the Norwegian government wrote in a press release.

The agreement covers the prevention of dangerous incidents as a result of Norwegian and Russian military ships and aircraft operating in the immediate vicinity of each other.

  1. Very glad to see this. It appears Chief of Armed Forces General Eirik Kristoffersen’s request for more dialog has been acted upon.
