The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs now advises against travel that is not strictly necessary to the hospital districts of Central Ostrobothnia and North Karelia in Finland.

The change is based on the National Institute of Public Health’s (FHI) weekly assessment of the coronavirus’s infection situation, the government stated.

The hospital districts of Central Ostrobothnia and North Karelia have been changed from the “yellow” to the “red” status on the infection map for Europe. The travel advice changed in line with the infection status.

At the same time, the entry quarantine for the Finnish hospital district Länsi-Pohja, which moved from “red” to “yellow” status, will be removed.

The changes take effect from Monday, March 8.
