All those traveling to Norway from Monday, December 21, must register in order to improve infection control efforts.

Everyone traveling to Norway must register information about, among other things, their quarantine location, employer, name, and contact information.

The main rule is that everyone crossing the border, including Norwegian citizens, must register, the government stated on its website.

The amendments to the COVID-19 regulations came into force at noon on Monday, December 21.

Pending a digital solution, the scheme is paper-based.

“This system will be of great benefit to the health sector in infection control and infection tracing work, but also to the police and the Norwegian Labor Inspection Authority in their work to follow up on breaches of quarantine regulations,” Minister of Justice and Emergency Management Monica Mæland (H) noted in the press release.
