The travel ban for flights from the UK will not be further extended.

The ban will be lifted at 5:00 PM on Saturday, January 2, the Ministry of Health and Care Services announced.

“The special rules on quarantine and testing for people coming from the UK will be continued,” the Ministry added in a press release.

People arriving by plane from the UK will have to fill out a travel registration form before arriving in Norway.

The travel ban was introduced on December 21 to prevent the spread of the new, mutated variant of the coronavirus discovered in the UK.

Initially, it was mean to be valid until December 23 but has since been extended several times.
