On Tuesday, the Norwegian Directorate of Health will start sending syringes and other equipment to the municipalities so that they are ready when the first corona vaccines arrive.

The vaccine equipment is distributed according to the number of inhabitants.

“This is a milestone in the work to stop the pandemic. The first delivery of syringes and vaccine equipment that we are now sending out will make the municipalities well prepared to start the vaccination work,” assistant health director Geir Stene Larsen said.

Distribution of vaccine equipment starts in the north of the country, and the supplier will work their way south in the next two weeks.

Before the New Year, all municipalities will receive enough equipment to start vaccination as soon as the first vaccines arrive, the Norwegian Directorate of Health stated.
