In a new report, the National Institute of Public Health (NIPH) estimates a sharp increase in infection in Norway over the next three weeks.
– Compared with last week, the results from our models together indicate a worsening of the situation and an increase in infection, NIPH writes in a modeling report from Wednesday this week, reports VG.
– We estimate growth in new cases over the next three weeks, while a week ago we estimated that it would be stable, NIPH points out.
In one week, NIPH estimates an increase of 84 cases of infection per day, and 100 new cases of infection per day in two weeks.
If the estimates materialize, in two weeks Norway will be above 23 new cases of infection per 100,000 inhabitants, which means that Norway would be colored red according to the Norwegian authorities’ requirements for EEA and Schengen countries. Norway is now at 10.3, according to VG.
