In the last 24 hours, 317 corona infections have been registered in Norway. That is 159 fewer than the day before and 114 fewer than the same day last week.

A total of 46,248 corona-infected people have been registered in Norway since the beginning of the pandemic, according to preliminary figures from the National Reporting System for Infectious Diseases (MSIS).

Around 2.7 million people have so far been tested for coronavirus in the country.

On the first day of Christmas, 113 corona-infected patients were admitted to hospitals in Norway – a decrease of ten patients from the day before.

A total of 421 corona-related deaths were reported to the National Institute of Public Health (FHI) since the start of the corona pandemic.

At least seven corona deaths were registered in Norway on Christmas Eve – two in Drammen, two in Bærum, two in Oslo, and one in Kongsberg.

The FHI emphasizes that it is not always possible to know whether patients die of or with COVID-19.
