“Now, we will learn to live with the coronavirus in society. We want to normalize how we relate to the virus,” Minister of Health Ingvild Kjerkol stated on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, she presented the government’s new corona strategy to the Norwegian parliament (Storting).

“The specific advice to stay home for four days after becoming infected with corona is revoked. From now on, professional advice will be left to the National Institute of Public Health.

“But the pandemic is by no means over. There is great uncertainty about eradicating infection, future virus variants, and when new variants could appear.

“Therefore, there is still a need for good monitoring and preparedness so that negative developments can be detected, assessed, and handled early,” Kjerkol said.
