Norway will organize a large ocean summit in 2019, Foreign Minister Brende informed during this year’s “Our Ocean”, a conference which has been held every year since 2014.
The conference brings together a number of foreign minister, environment ministers, government officials and scientists to discuss the protection of the oceans.
This year, US Secretary of State John Kerry is hosting the meeting in Washington, where President Barack Obama also spoke. Next year the conference will be held by the EU in Malta. Indonesia will organize the event in 2018.
