Norway will accept the Northern Irish COVID certificate from August 18 at 3 PM, which is when the solution to verify the QR code in the Northern Ireland COVID certificate will be rolled out at the border.
San Marino and Vatican City are now part of the EU’s gateway for verifiable COVID-19 certificates, meaning that these certificates are also accepted in Norway.
That means that people from these countries who have been fully vaccinated with a vaccine that has been approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) will be able to enter Norway without any restrictions. The same applies to people who have recovered from COVID-19 during the past six months. For these groups, no travel quarantine will be required, and they will not need to provide proof of a negative test result, complete an entry registration form, or be tested at the border.
Travelers arriving from Northern Ireland with a valid COVID certificate who are staying at a quarantine hotel in Norway when the change enters into effect on Wednesday may leave the hotel.
The Northern Irish COVID certificate is very similar to the solution used by England and Wales. The COVID Pass from these countries was approved for entry into Norway from August 12.
