The Norwegian government plans to increase the amount limit for tax-free gifts that employers in the country can give workers.

Flu and pandemic vaccines offered by employers will also be tax-free in 2021, Minister of Finance Jan Tore Sanner (H) told newspaper VG.

The amount limit for tax-free gifts from the employer will be increased from NOK 2,000 to NOK 5,000.

The total limit for tax-free gifts and staff discounts is increased from NOK 10,000 to NOK 13,000.

Tax-free gifts that companies can give to their employees are, for example, a subscription to a fitness center, a bicycle, or a monthly pass for public transport.
