The control of exports from this year’s winter fishing season is being tightened due to deviations that were discovered last year, the Customs Service announced on Monday.

“Customs identified deviations in the control of export declarations during last year’s winter fishing (season). Errors and deviations were, among other things, related to the stated values, classification, quality, means of transport, and information related to the customs office. The agency will therefore follow this up more closely this year,” department director Ole Kristian Gjørven in the Customs Service stated.

The Customs Service will make sure that export declarations and other customs documents are filled in correctly both at the time of departure and through follow-up checks in companies.
