The Immigration Appeals Board (UNE) has extended the suspension of forced returns to Afghanistan.

That means that persons who have previously received a decision to return to Afghanistan from the UNE or the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) are not obliged to travel until further notice.

“There is still great uncertainty about the further political, security, human rights and humanitarian developments in the country after the Taliban took power on August 15.

“Therefore, we are now extending the suspension,” UNE director Marianne Jakobsen stated.
