The Confederation of Unions for Professionals (Unio) is approaching 390,000 members. Almost 8,500 people joined the organization last year.

In 2021, Unio grew by 8,436 new members. The largest increase in the number of members has been registered by the Education Association and the Norwegian Nurses’ Association, with over 4,500 and 2100 more members, respectively, Unio stated in a press release.

Thus, there are over 389,217 people listed as members of the employee organization.

“The more members we have of a trade union, the stronger the tripartite cooperation. This is the basis for the entire Norwegian model,” Unio leader Ragnhild Lied said.

On Monday, the LO reported that their union has grown by almost 30,000 members in the last two years – and that the number of members is now at 978,338.
