Minister of Defense Odd Roger Enoksen (SP) believes that the exercise activity in the north should be better coordinated. Now, he wants to take up the matter with the United States.

Enoksen is in Washington on Tuesday, where he will meet US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.

Enoksen told NTB that one of the issues he wants to raise with his American colleague is the need for better coordination of Allied exercise activity in the north.

“We have a desire to coordinate this better,” he noted.

Enoksen also wants to use the opportunity to inform the Americans about the new government’s defense policy, where great emphasis is placed on the High North.

In addition, Norway hopes for increased cooperation between Norwegian and American special forces.

  1. Does this include greater dialogue – coordination – with the Russians as well … as Chief of Armed Forces Gen. Eirik Kristoffersen urged?

And again, if we’re going to join in the confrontational stance against Russia, shouldn’t every man, woman, and child in Norway know what fallout shelter we should go to, does it have supplies – water, food, sanitation bags, diapers … – for 3 months, and will Norwegian law preside … or some other even vigilante force be left to take control?

Someone should sort out our real priorities and see to them, while there may still be time.
