Norway’s Minister of Defense Odd Roger Enoksen plans to address the situation in the High North when he meets US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin on Tuesday afternoon.

“The USA is our most important ally, and the government is concerned with maintaining and further developing the strong security policy ties between our two countries,” Enoksen (SP) said in a statement to NTB.

On Monday, November 15, he travels to the United States to meet with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.

Enoksen will, among other things, address relations with Russia and the increased military activity in Norway’s immediate neighborhood.

“I want to express our view on the developments in the High North and the increased Russian military activity.

“Our allies highly value our knowledge of Russia and the High North, and I want to address how Norway can contribute to stability in our immediate neighborhood,” he noted.

  1. Aren’t the Russians increasing their military activity in the High North just in reaction to us doing so?
And wouldn’t decreasing our activity de-escalate the tension and danger?
    Or is this too logical?

By the way, does every man, woman, and child in Norway know what fallout shelter we should go to, does it have supplies – water, food, sanitation bags, diapers … – for 3 months, and will Norwegian or some other (even vigilante) law preside?
Someone should sort out our real priorities and see to them, while there may still be time.
