The omicron variant is associated with less risk of serious illness. For the fully vaccinated, it is better to get infected now than at a later date, the FHI wrote on Wednesday.

“Many people got a booster dose fairly recently have very good protection against serious illness.

“For them, it is better to get infected now than later,” the National Institute of Public Health (FHI) noted in an updated risk assessment of the omicron variant.

The risk of serious illness and death as a result of the epidemic has now decreased, especially for vaccinated people, because the omicron variant has less ability to cause serious illness, the FHI pointed out.
