According to the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (FHI), the time for disinfecting door handles and keyboards is over. Now, people can go back to regular cleaning.
“We think it is time to return to normal cleaning routines. Regular disinfection of equipment is not necessary,” senior adviser Mette Fagernes at the FHI told Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK).
However, she emphasized that hand hygiene is still important.
The FHI’s previous advice has, among other things, been aimed at gyms, swimming pools, and other places where people gather.
However, multiple companies and agencies plan to continue with the stricter routine of equipment disinfection.
Sats also plans to keep the routines in place. In an update on their website, they noted that they plan to “continue with the thorough cleaning of equipment, and encourage members to clean the equipment before and after use.”
