Norway’s FHI: Number of hospitalized corona patients continues to decline
The number of hospitalized corona patients continues to decline but will probably not decrease as quickly in May as in March and April, the FHI believes. So far this week, there are 62 new inpatients - compared to 79 the week before.
A total of 3,061 deaths have been registered up to May 8, according to the Norwegian Institute of Public Health’s (FHI) weekly report on the corona situation in the country.
This week, 37 deaths have been registered so far – compared to 70 the week before.
“The figures for the last few weeks, especially the last week, are expected to be adjusted upwards,” the FHI noted.
The median age of those who died in week 18 was 84 years, and 59% died at a health institution other than a hospital, primarily a nursing home.
