A lot of people with severely weakened immune systems should take a fourth dose of the corona vaccine to ensure continued good protection, according to the National Institute of Public Health (FHI).

So far, among those who need it, only about 6,000 people have received the fourth dose, the FHI stated on Tuesday.

It is worrying, assistant director Geir Bukholm at the FHI noted. He pointed out that there are 75,000 users of immunosuppressive drugs in Norway.

People who have severely weakened immune systems due to illness or the use of immunosuppressive therapy have a poorer response to vaccines. In addition, they have a higher risk of becoming seriously ill from coronavirus.
