The vaccination of people under the age of 45 with the third dose of the corona vaccine can start before Christmas if the government approves it, Geir Bukholm at the National Institute of Public Health (FHI) said on Friday.

The FHI is now working on its professional assessment of the vaccination of the 18–45 age group, Bukholm told the newspaper VG.

“It could allow for the vaccination of those in this group who already satisfy the vaccine interval,” he said.

Four and a half months need to pass between the second and the third dose, and people under the age of 45 can receive the third dose if the interval is long enough, Bukholm confirmed.

“The final clarification will come soon,” he added.
