Norway’s FHI: We could return to normal everyday life soon

The FHI believes that we will be able to return to normal everyday life “in a short time.”

“Society could return to normal everyday life without special infection control measures against COVID-19 in a short time, without it leading to a significantly increased disease burden,” the FHI wrote in its latest risk assessment.

At the same time, the FHI estimates that the winter wave will infect three to four million people.

“We believe that a few thousand people will need hospital treatment, but that the hospitals will never have more than a thousand hospitalized people in total and no more than a hundred patients on respirators at the same time. In addition, there will also be non-corona patients,” the FHI noted.

The spread of the epidemic is now so great that a significant slowdown in the epidemic would have required extreme measures over time, the FHI believes.
