The Green Party (MDG), Socialist Left Party (SV), and Liberal Party (V) are joining forces in a parliamentary proposal to stop the planned wolf hunt in the wolf zone.

This weekend, at least ten wolves were shot in Innlandet and Viken. The hunting period is almost over, but the government has announced that it is open to extending it. A decision is expected on Tuesday.

The proposal from the three parties states that “the Norwegian parliament (Storting) asks the government to stop the planned wolf hunt in the wolf zone.”

“I think many people see the hunt that is now going on as completely grotesque. The wolf zone is the only area in the country where the wolf should have some protection… It is sad for Norwegian nature,” MDG leader Une Bastholm said.
