On Monday morning, Minister of Health Bent Høie (H) received his first dose of the corona vaccine in Stavanger.

Høie told newspaper Stavanger Aftenblad that he did not feel the sting, and he thanked everyone working in the vaccination room.

“I look forward to socializing more. Otherwise, the holiday will be as planned in Stavanger,” he told the newspaper.

The Minister of Health will receive his second vaccine dose on election day.

In May, the Norwegian government decided that 500 people in key socially critical functions, including the parliament’s elected representatives and government members, should be moved forward in the vaccine queue.

However, Minister of Health Bent Høie was among those who rejected the offer.

“The reason for that is that I have been asked this question since January. I always said that I would be vaccinated when it’s my time in the queue at home in Stavanger. I wanted to stick to that,” he told news bureau NTB.
