King Harald will compete in the WC in sailing with the crew on the boat “Sira.”

He will participate in the WC in Geneva, Switzerland, at the end of the month, Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) reports.

On the list of participants, King Harald is listed as the skipper of “Sira,” together with a crew of six more people.

“The king is scheduled to participate in the world championship later this summer,” assistant communications manager Sven Gjeruldsen at the Royal House stated.

The World Sailing Championship takes place between July 25 and 30.

In good shape

The king will compete five months after turning 85 years old. He underwent leg surgery in January last year.

“The king is in good shape,” Gjeruldsen added.

King Harald has five World Cup medals in sailing: one gold, two silver, and two bronze medals. He also has a European Championship gold.

The 85-year-old king has also represented Norway three times during the Olympics (1964, 1968, and 1972).
