Minister of Health Ingvild Kjerkol (AP) calls the threats aimed at the FHI and others who handle the corona pandemic in Norway unacceptable.

On Tuesday, the newspaper Avisa Oslo reported that director Camilla Stoltenberg was among several FHI employees who have received threats and that the department has reported several of the threats to the police.

HealthCcouncilor Robert Steen (AP) in Oslo also said he had received his share of threats during the pandemic.

On Wednesday, Minister of Health Kjerkol spoke out against those who promote such threats.

“Unacceptable”

“I would first like to say that it is unacceptable that people get threats,” Kjerkol told Avisa Oslo.

She added that she also received foul messages.

“Even though I have not received serious threats, I, unfortunately, know from other people’s stories that that can be the downside of participating in a public debate or being a public person. And that’s not how it should be,” Kjerkol said.
