The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) now advises against all travel to Belarus – including Minsk.

Since February 11, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised against all travel to Belarus, with the exception of the capital Minsk. Due to the tense and unpredictable situation in and around the country, Minsk is now included in the travel advice, the government stated on Wednesday.

“If you choose to travel to Belarus now, we encourage you to make thorough assessments of your own safety and contact your insurance company to confirm that you have valid travel insurance,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted.

It added that the situation in Belarus might change at short notice.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs encouraged all Norwegian citizens who are planning a trip to Belarus or who are already there to register their trip – either via reseregistrering.no or via the Reiseklar app.
