The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not wish to comment further on developments in Afghanistan as the situation is now.
Reports from Afghanistan suggest that power in Kabul is about to be transferred to a transitional government – after the Taliban surrounded the capital.
“The situation in Afghanistan is confusing and very demanding. We now have full focus on the safety of our employees, our local employees and their families, and for that reason, we will not give further comments beyond what the Foreign Minister said at the press conference on Friday,” press spokesperson at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ane Haavardsdatter Lunde, stated.
