The Ukrainians’ efforts in the war against Russia left a deep impression on Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre (AP).
“There are tough battles in many places in Ukraine, and it is clear that Russia is facing considerable opposition.
“The Ukrainians are obviously ready to fight for their country, and it makes a deep impression (on me) to follow it hour by hour,” Støre said during Friday’s press conference about the war.
He pointed out that there are losses on both sides and an influx of refugees to the west. However, the threat situation in relation to Norway has not changed, Støre emphasized.
“We are NATO’s eyes and ears in the North, and we expect Russia to increase its protection measures in the North as well, but there is no change in the observed situation,” he added.
