The Progress Party (FRP) fears that criminals will take advantage of the war in Ukraine and the resulting influx of refugees. It calls for border controls to be introduced.

“We must have control over who enters Norway. Therefore, we should introduce border controls,” the FRP’s immigration and integration policy spokesman Erlend Wiborg told the newspaper VG.

Wiborg says that the Norwegian Police Security Service (PST) has warned that terrorists could hide among the refugees in previous crises. He pointed out that Sweden has introduced controls recently and believes that Norway must follow its example.

“It is a chaotic situation with millions of people fleeing in Europe. While we must help (people), we must ensure control,” he said.

  1. Are not most of these refugees women and children ? I suspect that terrorists among them will be few and far between.
