The Red Party (Rødt) is not happy with the new electricity support package of measures. The party believes that people should receive electricity support before Christmas.

“This scheme is still too bad. Rødt has taken the initiative to participate in the negotiations, but to no avail. We believe we could have contributed to better solutions.

“We have proposals that will come up in the Storting in the next few days about payment before Christmas,” Rødt’s Storting representative Sofie Marhaug, who is deputy chair of the Energy and Environment Committee, stated.

The party also believes that more measures must be prepared.

“The government spends only a limited proportion of the enormously increased income they receive from ordinary people’s electricity bills on repaying them. Therefore, more measures are needed, also over the New Year.”
