Norway’s Socialist Left Party (SV) believes the government’s offshore wind project, which was presented on Wednesday, is disappointing. They believe that work must begin faster than the government has proposed.

“This was disappointing. The government has announced a gigantic offshore wind initiative, which was to inform the companies about how to ensure profitable development of offshore wind. Instead, the government presented a report and a consultation,” SV’s business policy spokesperson Torgeir Knag Fylkesnes said.

He thinks the work should start faster and says SV has several times raised proposals that would accelerate such efforts.

“Waiting until the end of the 20s, maybe even the 30s, will mean that Norway is lagging behind industrially and that it will take a long time before households and industry can use this power.”
